We are a leading oilfield construction company that provides quality Pipeline Construction, Pipeline Integrity, Facility Construction and Module Construction to western Canada’s energy sector.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Shop Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adept at managing a wide range of purchasing activities, including the organization, acquisition, stocking, and dispersal of inventory. This role requires a mechanically inclined individual with proficient computer skills, exceptional multitasking abilities, and the capacity to perform urgent tasks (hotshots) throughout Alberta as required. This position will report directly to the Area Manager and will be required to communicate in a timely manner with Construction and Equipment groups.
Duties and Responsibilities
Shop/Yard: Liaise with the Area Manager on duties and prioritization. Schedule and coordinate with support staff on snow clearing, yard upkeep, shop organization and cleanliness. Track and maintain inventory on small tools, consumables, trucks and trailers.
Construction: Liaise with the Project/Construction Managers and field Superintendents with field orders. Support loading/unloading of trucks, warehouses and inventory. Complete and/or coordinate site deliveries as required.
Equipment & Maintenance: Liaise with the Equipment Manager on trucks and trailers for servicing, maintenance and cleaning. Complete servicing and repairs on small tools such as generators, water pumps, etc.
Purchasing: Track and complete equipment/supply requests from field. Orders filled from stock, other shop locations or purchased. Obtain quotes from vendors to ensure competitive pricing and negotiate bulk pricing with Suppliers.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of tools and consumables used in field operations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding in multi-discipline construction operations.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word)
Operate small equipment, i.e. skid steer
Certifications and Onboarding Requirements:
Valid driver license
Participate in League’s NSC program
Load securement
Site specific orientations and training upon hire
Work Conditions:
Typically, 5 days per week with alternating weekends on call
Work will be in the Brooks Shop with some travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia for project deliveries
