Position Summary
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Project Controller is responsible for supporting the successful planning, execution, monitoring and financial performance of construction projects. Working closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents and the Accounting team, the Project Controller provides project controls, cost tracking, forecasting, reporting and change management support throughout the lifecycle of a project.
The Project Controller plays a key role in maintaining accurate project information, monitoring budgets and productivity, tracking project progress, identifying trends and variances, and ensuring timely reporting to both internal management and clients. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong analytical abilities and excellent communication.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Project Controller is responsible for supporting the successful planning, execution, monitoring and financial performance of construction projects. Working closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents and the Accounting team, the Project Controller provides project controls, cost tracking, forecasting, reporting and change management support throughout the lifecycle of a project.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong analytical abilities and excellent communication.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
- Monitor project costs, commitments and expenditures against approved budgets.
- Assist with project estimating and bid preparation.
- Prepare and update project cash flow forecasts.
- Track project progress, productivity and earned value metrics.
- Review daily labour, equipment and material reports for accuracy.
- Assist with quantity tracking and production reporting.
- Analyze project performance and identify cost and schedule variances.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project performance reports.
- Support Construction & Project Managers with forecasting final project costs.
- Assist in preparing client change orders, quotations and project proposals.
- Maintain project logs including RFIs, change orders and purchase order tracking.
- Review vendor invoices and subcontractor progress claims.
- Coordinate with Accounting to ensure accurate project costing and invoicing.
- Support project close-out including final cost reconciliation and turnover documentation.
- Develop, improve and maintain project controls tools, dashboards and reporting templates using Microsoft Excel.
- Identify opportunities to improve project controls processes, reporting accuracy and operational efficiencies.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide project performance updates.
- Work collaboratively with field supervision and project teams to ensure accurate project information. Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, charts and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret project financial and operational data.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to develop efficient reporting and tracking processes.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Project Controls, Project Coordination or Project Administration.
- Oil & Gas construction experience considered a strong asset.
- Experience with estimating, budgeting and cost tracking.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar systems is considered an asset.
- Understanding of project scheduling concepts is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Business Administration or a related field is considered an asset.
