Location: Coronation, AB or Lloydminster, AB Area
Position Summary:

This position will coordinate health, safety and environmental programs, processes, and activities to assist the operations team in maintaining compliance; as well as mitigating and managing HSE and security-related risks. Position Title: HSE Advisor

This position will coordinate health, safety and environmental programs, processes, and activities to assist the operations team in maintaining compliance; as well as mitigating and managing HSE and security-related risks. Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as the first point-of-contact for HSE and security inquiries and incidents.
- Provides guidance to the operations team members on HSE and security matters, and escalates inquiries, where appropriate.
- Coordinates the implementation of HSE programs along with related processes, procedures, and resources.
- Coordinates HSE activities including but not limited to health and safety committee meetings and activities, incident investigation and resolution, emergency response procedures, training.
- Maintains and assists with the creation of HSE documents.
- Participates in field inspections, job observations; HSE audits and other types of reviews for the purpose of monitoring compliance to HSE requirements and identifying risks. Provides findings about risks and suggestions for improvement.
- Participates in daily tailgate – toolbox meetings with crews.
- Develops and conducts monthly and quarterly safety meetings.
- Assist with the development of safety plans, traffic management plans, etc.
- Assist with new hire onboarding and training and the new worker program
- Gathers field safety statistics.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as required.
- Available for on call shifts when needed.
- Available on short term notice for site visits
- Assists in the investigation and resolution of incidents including root-cause analysis and providing probable causes of incidents and recommendations for resolution.
- Assist with the implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
- Assists in the identification and analysis of trends. Communicates observations and provides suggestions for incident reduction measures.
- Certification in one or more of the following – Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, NCSO, CRSP or working towards designation. (Minimum NCSO is required)
- Understanding of emergency management requirements.
- Understanding of HSE regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills along with ability to coordinate multiple requirements (i.e. processes, activities, projects, emergency response procedures, etc.) simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills along with some ability to influence stakeholders.
- Strong administrative skills along with ability to maintain and report accurate data.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- 5 years minimum experience in a Safety role with a preference related to experience in working on construction, maintenance, or operations within the oil & gas industry.
