Apprentice Automotive Technician

We are currently seeking a motivated Apprentice Automotive Technician (2nd or 3rd Year) to join our team in Lloydminster and support the maintenance and repair of our company-owned automotive and trailer fleet.
Position Summary
The Apprentice Automotive Technician works under the guidance of experienced Journeyman Technicians to assist with inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance of automotive and trailer equipment. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in a safety-driven, team-oriented environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on automotive and trailer equipment
- Support repairs on brakes, shocks, suspension, and related components
- Assist with diagnosing and repairing trailer systems, including running gear, brakes, and suspensions
- Learn proper diagnostic and repair techniques under supervision
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and continuous movement
- Perform additional duties as required to meet operational needs
Skills & Experience
- Registered Automotive Technician Apprentice (2nd or 3rd year)
- Previous shop, automotive, or mechanical experience considered an asset
- Trailer repair experience is an asset
- Experience working on Dodge vehicles is considered an asset
- Strong willingness to learn and take direction from Journeyman Technicians
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Must supply basic personal tools appropriate to apprenticeship level
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including overtime as required
Certifications & Onboarding Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- 3‑year Driver’s Abstract
- Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
